We do our best to keep local residents and other interested parties as well informed as possible about all matters related to the construction work of The Modernist. We do this through information bulletins, which can be viewed and downloaded here.

Piling work
A total of 490 foundation piles will be installed for The Modernist, of which 100 need to be driven. Since pile driving can cause disruption, several measures will be taken: a container wall will be placed at the corner of Kruisplein and Diergaardesingel, the pile driver will be fitted with a noise-reducing cover, and work will start at 8:00 AM instead of 7:00 AM.
Pile driving is scheduled to begin in mid-May and will take a maximum of 25 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays). The remaining 390 piles will be drilled, which causes significantly less disturbance. Please note: no pile driving will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025 (the day after Ascension Day). Festive start of the realization of The Modernist!
On Friday, December 6, Alderman Chantal Zeegers officially kicked off the realization of The Modernist in Rotterdam! The construction of The Modernist is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
